Jayda - December 21, 2009

Jayda is a beautiful Husky/Lab mix who was born in October 2008. She has a lovely golden coat and gorgeous blue eyes! She weighs approximately 30 pounds now but she has more growing yet to do. Jayda has the affection of the lab in her, but enough of the independence of a husky that she isn't clingy.

Jayda is currently living in a foster home where she's being socialized with people and other animals, as well as learning good doggy behaviors. Her foster family reports the following: Jayda is wonderful, silly, and affectionate with her foster family. She has great house manners. She regularly goes with our other dogs on off leash walks in the woods, and she sticks close by. She is great with all of the other dogs in our house and the cats too. She loves to chase squirrels in the backyard, and will patiently stalk one for the afternoon if it needs it! She is not a barker, but talks like a husky. She loves her toys and will "talk with her mouth full" of toy out of excitement.

Jayda is a very sweet and loving girl but she's still timid with strangers. However, she has never shown ANY aggression with people despite being petrified of them. Her foster family would like to adopt her to a home with another dog, and with people who would be willing to do a more gradual adoption than normal. If Jayda can visit a new home and come back here a few times it would help her a lot. We also want someone who is active and loves to run or walk, as that is what really bonds her and opens her up.

Jayda is sure to bring lots of tail waggin' fun into your life, so won't you please ask about her today?

****Her adoption fee is $200; includes spay surgery, vaccinations, and all other medical care****.

Dane 11/30/2009

Dane is a handsome Rottweiler/Husky/Boxer/Terrier mix who was born in November 2008. He has light brown fur, one blue eye, one brown eye, and a dark muzzle. He weighs about 60 pounds so that means he'll make the perfect medium-larger sized furry friend!

Dane is currently living in a foster home where he's being socialized with people and other animals, and he's also practicing good doggy behaviors. He's a real sweet boy, and he is full of energy and playfulness. He is great with people and other dogs. He loves to run and play with other dogs. He LOVES the water. In fact, he actually lays down in the bath tub like a human and doesn't want to get out, like he's taking a nice long soak - too cool!He likes playing with all of his doggy toys and he's learning to retrieve toys and balls when thrown. He shares bones with other dogs as well.

Dane is also a smart boy as he knows sit and come, and is working on down. He rides nicely in the car, goes in a crate, is completely housebroken and does not bark a lot. He walks well with a pinch collar and does well in the nearby field and woods off leash.

Dane will do best if he is placed with an experienced dog owner who understands how to work with dogs. His ideal person/family will give him tons of attention and exercise. And he'd also love a home with another dog to play with! He'd do best in a home with children over the age of 7.

****His adoption fee is $225 and includes neuter, vaccinations, and all other medical care.****
