ROAD CONDITIONS
Thursday traffic volumes are fairly normal across our area, with the biggest problems remaining in the construction zones. Buckle up, keep an eye out for road crews and pedestrians, and leave adequate distance between you and the vehicle ahead.

Academy St. Closed between Bulkey and Catherine, one way eastbound for the USTA Junior National Championship will re-open totally midnight, Aug. 10.

The American Red Cross extended an urgent appeal for blood donations as Michigan continues to face alarmingly low blood levels.

Construction at KL Ave, CLOSED. Stadium Dr, 11th and KL are the alternate routes.
Scheduled completion: Aug. 15.

Bayshore Dr | Battle Creek  Construction
between Lynwood Dr and Bay Pointe, CLOSED. Bay Pointe is also closed between Bayshore Dr and the end.

Road Crew between West St and United Way, CLOSED.
Scheduled completion: 5 p.m. TODAY, Thursday Aug. 7.

Clay St | Battle Creek 
Construction between Penn and Poplar streets, CLOSED.

Dickman Rd | Battle Creek
Single lane closures with flagger control between I-194 and Claire St. Expect delays.
Scheduled completion: November.

E. Emmett St | Battle Creek 
Construction between N. McKinley and East avenues, CLOSED. NW Capital Ave can be used as an alternate route. Scheduled completion: Aug. 31.

Hamblin Ave | Battle Creek 
Possible lane and intermittent total closures between Division and Capital.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 15.

I-94 Business Loop/Eaton St | Albion 
Construction between C Dr N. to M-99/Michigan Ave, single lane closure.
Scheduled completion: Mid-August.

M-37 | Middleville 
Construction between Adams and Finkbeiner roads, lane restrictions.
Scheduled completion: Late August.

M-37/M-43 | Barry County 
Construction between the M-37/M-43 west junction and Cook Rd, travel reduced to one lane of alternating traffic. One lane of travel will be open in each direction starting in September.
Scheduled completion: Oct. 10.

M-40 | Gobles 
CLOSED northbound through the city. The posted detour will follow 20th Ave and 32nd St.
Scheduled completion: Mid-September.

M-63 | Benton Harbor 
Single lane closures in each direction north of the St. Joseph River past Higman Park. Higman Park Road will also be detoured as part of this project.
Scheduled completion: Early October.

M-86/State St | St. Joseph County 
Reduced to one lane over Swan Creek in alternating directions with a temporary traffic signal.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 30.

M-99/Michigan Ave | Albion 
Construction near Clark St, single lane closure.
Scheduled completion: Mid-August.

M-99/S. Superior St | Albion 
Construction between Ash St and the Kalamazoo River, single lane closure.
Scheduled completion: Mid-August.

Moorsbridge Rd | Portage 
Construction between Romence Rd and Muirfield Dr, CLOSED to through traffic.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 5.

Mosel Ave | Kalamazoo County 
Construction between N. Westnedge Ave and the Kalamazoo River bridge, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Scheduled completion: Mid-September.

Oliver St | Kalamazoo 
Construction on the Western Michigan University campus between Oakland and Stadium, CLOSED.
Scheduled completion: Aug. 31.

Parkview Ave | Kalamazoo County  
CLOSED over US-131 between 12th Street and Drake Road. The detour follows Drake, Stadium Drive and 11th Street. Also watch for periodic single lane closures along US-131.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 1.

Riverside Dr | Battle Creek 
Construction between E. Minges and Shortridge Rd, CLOSED.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 15.

Riverside Dr | Battle Creek 
Construction between Columbia Ave and Burnham St, CLOSED.
Scheduled completion: Aug. 29.

Romence Rd | Portage 
Construction between Oakland Dr and Angling Rd, CLOSED to through traffic.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 5.

S. Westnedge Ave | Portage 
Daytime and possible nighttime flagger-controlled lane closures and traffic shifts between Trade Center Way and Old Kilgore. Scheduled completion: Sept. 1.

Verona Rd | Calhoun County 
Construction by I-94, single lane closure.
Scheduled completion: Aug. 22.

I-196

I-196 | Eastbound | & Westbound | Van Buren County 
One lane closed in each direction at Phoenix Rd.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 30.
Phoenix Road is down to one lane in each direction as part of this project.

Construction between I-94 and Island Hwy, single lane closure.
Scheduled completion: Aug. 29.

Construction over Galien River near mile marker 5, single lane closure.

Single lane closure between Kruger Rd past Three Oaks Rd.
Scheduled completion: Mid-November.

I-94 | Eastbound | Kalamazoo/Portage  
The ramp to US-131 southbound is CLOSED.
Scheduled completion: Nov. 28.

I-94 | Eastbound | Kalamazoo/Portage 
All traffic is shifted from west of US-131 to east of Oakland Dr onto the westbound side of the freeway with two lanes open in both directions. Expect delays during peak travel times.
Scheduled completion: Nov. 15.

I-94 | Eastbound | & Westbound |Calhoun/Kalamazoo counties 
Lane restrictions in both directions between Helmer Rd and 40th St.
Scheduled completion: Aug. 29.

I-94 | Eastbound | Kalamazoo/Portage  
The ramp from Oakland Dr is CLOSED. The westbound entrance ramp is down to one lane.
Scheduled completion: Mid-August.

I-94 | Eastbound | Calhoun County  
Intermittent nighttime lane closures at Verona Rd bridge.
Scheduled completion: Aug. 22.

I-94 | Westbound | Kalamazoo County 
Construction between I-94 business loop and Portage Rd, nighttime single lane closures from 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Scheduled completion: August 18.

I-94 | Westbound | Berrien County  
Lane shift between Friday Rd and I-196.
Scheduled completion: Nov. 1.

US-12
 
US-12 | Eastbound | Berrien County 
Construction between Dayton Rd in Galien and Elm St in Three Oaks, flag control operations.
Scheduled completion: Late October.

US-12 | Eastbound | & Westbound | Berrien County 
Construction over the Galien River, only one lane open with travel controlled by temporary traffic signals.
Scheduled completion: Late August.

US-12 | Eastbound | Cass County 
Construction between M-62 and Mason St, one lane of alternating traffic, controlled by flaggers during the daytime.
Scheduled completion: Late August.
There will also be lane restrictions on M-217 from the state line to US-12 during this same time.

US-131
 
US-131 | Northbound | Kalamazoo/Portage  
The ramps to I-94 eastbound/westbound are CLOSED. Scheduled completion: Nov. 28.
The ramp from US-131 southbound to I-94 eastbound is CLOSED as part of this project.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 15.

US-131 | Northbound | & Southbound Kalamazoo County 
Construction between Schoolcraft and U Ave, lane restrictions with one lane open in each direction. During railroad crossing work, Aug. 18-28, all traffic will be detoured using the combination of XY and 14th avenues along with Eliza St.
Scheduled completion: September.

US-131 | Southbound | Kalamazoo/Portage  
The ramp to I-94 eastbound is CLOSED.
Scheduled completion: Sept. 15.
